So interesting. Any information about the "Erie Hills Pedestrian Mall"? Looks like it was poorly carried out effort to have some sort of parkland where the Terrace Park was.
We don't check comments often on posts, as you can see! The Erie Street mall was constructed in the early 1970's as part of an effort to link the new Erie Basin Marina with Main Street. The moundscapes were a then-popular landscape architectural feature (there is another "pocket park" on Whitney Place that has some of its features). I believe the sandstone pavers were harvested from Erie Street itself. It was not an attempt to replace the lost Terrace Park.
